I grew up in a small town near some of the most beautiful beaches in Port Elgin, Ontario. I travelled far north to Sudbury, ON, where I completed Dental Assisting in 2009 and Dental Hygiene in 2012 post secondary programs. I then went on to become Self Initiated in Dental Hygiene in 2013. During my years of practice I have had the privileges' to work with; in my opinion, some of the best dentists and specialists in Ontario. I dove down the rabbit hole of myofunctional therapy in 2019 and have been excited to share my knowledge of orofacial muscular disorders and their therapies with my clients. I have learned so much over the years and continue to add to my education to better help my clients reach optimal oral health. When I am not working I am enjoying a good movie or new adventure with my family. I look forward to meeting you!
Dental hygiene scope is ever growing from removing built up tartar/calculus, plaque removal, stain removal, oral cancer screening, teeth whitening, nutritional counselling, tobacco cessation, surgical referrals, TMJ assessments, microscopic bacterial plaque analysis, saliva PH testing and more! I treat even the smallest members of the family! From infancy and beyond, I am here for hygiene examination, treatment and ongoing wellness for the whole family.

Similar to a Dentist owned clinic, most hygiene services are covered in the same capacity regardless of getting the work completed at the Dentist or Hygienist Clinic! This means what is typically covered at one office will be covered at the other. Of course every dental benefit program is unique and has its own set of eligibility criteria, frequency and age limitations. It is always strongly recommended to send estimates or call your benefit company ahead of time for any proposed treatment plans so that there are no surprises when it comes to the bill! If you have recently had similar treatment completed at another office and would like to figure out your benefit coverage, reach out to us anytime and we can assist you in getting a breakdown of your plan!
Most dental benefits allow us to electronically submit your dental hygiene claim to them. With your permission we will send in the dental claim form on your behalf to the insurance company and we accept assignment of the insurance payment directly to our clinic.
There is no Dentist currently associated directly in our clinic. We strongly believe in interprofessional collaboration and always recommend keeping at minimum annual examinations with your favourite Dentist provider. If we see any concerns during your assessments or subsequent appointments that require diagnosis or treatment outside of our scope we are equipped to discuss and quickly facilitate any referrals to Dentists and Medical Specialists that you may need.
We are a fee for service clinic. Each service we provide is billed out according to the suggested Ontario Dental Hygiene Fee guide which is made public through the Ontario Dental Hygiene Association. Fee's are different based off services rendered and time spent. This means every person will have an individualized treatment and cost based off their assessment findings and oral conditions. Estimates for treatment can be completed ahead of time but are never set in stone as treatment could change during the appointment. In the case the treatment would be more than estimate we would pause to discuss it prior to completion to ensure full disclosure and informed consent to continue. It is very important to us to keep our clients informed of all the possible finical fee's prior to completing the work.
For your very first visit into our clinic the short answer is no!
To treat your oral conditions including biofilm buildup, bad breath, stain, gingivitis, periodontal disease, calculus build up and much more we require a thorough complete initial assessment to determine the severity of your oral condition and overall oral health. This initial assessment is thorough and includes a complete medical and dental history, examination of your soft and hard tissues, head and neck anatomy, saliva pH, range of motion, functional assessments and periodontal assessments, which give us the baseline of your current health status! From that initial assessment collection a dental hygiene diagnosis is completed. This dental hygiene diagnosis is then used to formulate an individualized treatment plan that includes your scaling and polishing, you are familiar with and can also include recommended therapies like nutritional counselling, periodontal laser treatment, oral probiotics, antibiotic therapy, implant care, referrals to specialists and so much more! Cleanings are more than just removing food and calculus on the teeth and is deemed a medical treatment used to prevent and treat oral disease. The assessment also allows us to determine which therapies and tools, frequencies and monitoring are best suited to treating you and getting you back to great oral health!
After this initial exam you would have your hygiene treatment appointments booked. There are, at minimum, annual re-care assessments completed to ensure we are maintaining a current capture of your oral state and modifying any ongoing care needed to your progress so we can stay ahead of your oral care needs.
